Jon's launched numerous digital properties for multiple brands - both big and small. He's been a Senior Product chap at the BBC, working across all key web properties and helped set up the organisation's mobile services. More recently he thoroughly enjoyed being Director of Product at an Accel-backed start-up. He currently runs mobile products & strategy at the Guardian Newspaper Group while fitting in some free digital consulting for worthy causes.

How mixer* works:
This network orientated event will start with a 10 minute keynote and then be opened up to 30 se
cond 'stand ups'. Anyone who comes to the event will be eligible to take advantage of the stand up time, however to get on the list you must have a completed profile on the mashup* site with a picture, profile and web links. Once this is done you can let Emma (emma@mashupevent.com) know you want to do a stand up.ONLY THOSE WHO PRE-REGISTER WITH EMMA WILL BE ALLOCATED A SLOT.
The 'stand up' slots are for you to describe what you NEED from the mashup* community (e.g a new CTO, funding, advisors, mentors, consultants, partners, etc). You have 30 seconds to speak (no slides, no demos) and the 'crowd' then have a minute to respond to the ask. Note: you can also simply ask a question rather than describing a fully-fledged need as such. The idea is that these little interactions will trigger more useful engagements after the 'stand up' session.
Combining Location with new devices, apps, social networks and related content (directories, reviews, ratings etc.) is creating significant new value for location based services.
This event will help you learn how to develop an effective location strategy for web and mobile based services based on new emerging digital capabilities.
We will cover:
- case studies of new services leveraging location & social networks/content,
- developing a strategy for your service/brand
- innovation & future developments that we're likely to see in 2010 and beyond

The Geo Technologies group provides the tools and technologies that drive user location, geocoding, location identification and disambiguation within Yahoo!, both internally and via public services such as GeoPlanet,Placemaker, Fire Eagle and Flickr. Passionate about location, privacy and digital identity, he blogs and tweets on matters geo for Yahoo! at www.ygeoblog.com and as@yahoogeo, personally at www.vicchi.org and as @vicchi.
Alan Patrick - Co Founder, Broadsight
Alan is co-founder of the technology strategy and system design consultancy Broadsight. Prior to that, he was a consultant at McKinsey &Co and has worked in various VP, MD and COO roles in other technology, internet and telecoms based service delivery companies. Broadsight counts many of the major UK telecoms and media companies as clients, as well as helping to advise and launch a number of succesful startups in areas such as online and mobile advertising, real time search, e-Readers and IPTV/WebTV and Mobile Video.
As part of its services Broadsight undertakes market intelligence/trend forecasting projects for clients, and these assignments include the potential - and pitfalls - of location based services (among other mobile services). Broadsight has recently released iDox, its first iPhone application for sahred document copying and filing, aimed at the business market, and (this will not surprise you) is looking at location based services itself. We will be sharing some of our work at Mashup.

Jon Fisher - Vodafone Internet Services
Jon has been at the forefront of mobile thinking for the last five years. Currently responsible for Vodafone's Location Services Proposition, he is looking at how location can be used for both standalone products and to enable a richer experience in other content services. Previously, Jon was utilising these skills for the Vectone Group, as the Chief Marketing Officer looking after MVNO and VOIP clients. This was after changing the face of mobile advertising by launching Blyk, The Youth Media Network and MVNO in the UK. Prior to this Jon was the Sales and Marketing Director For Picture Production Company, working with clients in the entertainment and youth marketing arena's. Working with household names such as Disney, Capcom, Universal and Paramount.
Jon;'s Mobile expertise, was developed and nurtured at Contra Communications, where Jon was responsible for managing several areas of the Nokia business, including the gaming and youth targeted products and strategy.
David Glennie - Group Product Director, Mobile Interactive Group
David has a solid telecoms background which started with his involvement as CTO at NYT, one of the most successful of Three's on-portal partners, as well as one of the first companies to enter the market with a commercial Mobile Internet site building tool.
In 2006, NYT was acquired by Inmovo, a UK telecoms specialised in delivering high capacity fixed and mobile solutions to corporate customers such as O2, STV and the Trader Media Group, and where David took on the position of Technical Director.
Before deciding to focus on mobile, David ran his own telecoms software business, TouchSoft, which specialised in number management, billing and service creation for UK telecoms and service providers, many of whom still use this technology today.
David joined MIG in 2008 and has played a pivotal role in the creation of Kilrush, MIG’s mobile publishing business.

Alex Housley - VP Business, Rummble
I developed a passion for emerging mobile technologies while studying business and computing at City University and realised an opportunity to assemble a team of experienced digital entrepreneurs to create Total Hotspots - an independent global service that helps people find legitimate free and paid WiFi hotspots.
Insights include forming partnerships with most leading WiFi and mobile network operators, launching the first SMS hotspot locator service in 2004 and a mobile business development contract with Multimap while they were acquired by Microsoft.
In November 2008, Total Hotspots partnered with Rummble, the location based social search and discovery service - two months later Total Hotspots for iPhone launched. Total Hotspots was acquired by Rummble in December 2009 and will continue to grow as a part of an innovative and rapidly evolving mothership, while I play a key role in technology and business development for both companies.
Chris Osborne - ITO World
Christopher Osborne is Head of Business Development for ITO World; providing online data management, geospatial analysis and visualisation for the transport industry. Christopher started life as a geographer, grew up with the internet, and finally blossomed into a neogeographer. He founded #GeoMob, the regular geoweb lightning talks and social event in London and is a well known figure in the UK geoweb community.
While not speaking he contributes to OpenStreetMap, promotes the benefits of open geodata to public bodies and builds bridges across the digital divide.

Since the companies inception Penrillian has worked with some of the major players in the mobile world; which include Vodafone, T–Mobile, O2, as well as the world’s number one software publisher Handmark.
Penrillian are currently working on a location based project and is developing components which enable mobile web sites access to the phones current location.
Armchair Travel specialise in the production of panoramic virtual tours of tourist destinations linked to Google or Nokia Maps and available on websites and on GPS-equipped mobiles, especially Nokia N-series devices, designed to be used when walking around a city. The tours are designed to be sponsor advertiser funded and free to the user. They are combined with Wcities travel guides which provide comprehensive tourist information behind the brilliant 360-degree panoramic images. A game called "FORAGE" is also included, with lucky-dip monthly prizes for those who discover the hidden clues.
